Make miracles happen through our Room Sponsorship program.

By supporting our Room Sponsorship program you are offering families a helping hand during some of the most difficult times they may ever encounter.

The Room Sponsorship program ensures that the rooms at Ronald McDonald House are beautifully kept and maintained for the out-of-town families who need a comfortable place to stay while in Newcastle seeking medical treatment for their sick children. Your sponsorship for five years will help cover the costs associated with maintenance and operation of your room, ensuring it is always available for the hundreds of families that stay with us each year. We recognize your support.

When you decide to Sponsor a Room, we know that your support comes from the heart. And we want to thank you as best we can upon receiving your donation:

  • We'll place a plaque on the door of the room prominently displaying your name certifying your adoption of the room.
  • We will also place a plaque on our "Tree of Love".
  • You'll receive a tax receipt applicable for the calendar year of each payment.
  • You'll have the first right of renewal on your room at the end of your two-year commitment should you wish to continue your sponsorship.

Room Sponsorship costs $2000 per year. Payment can be made by cheque, Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE in the Hunter - WISH LIST 2005

As a "home away from home" for hundreds of children and families who are in Newcastle receiving medical treatment, Ronald McDonald House in the Hunter is always striving to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Our "Wish List" is updated regularly as we meet new challenges in House operations and address the needs of our families, volunteers, and staff. The following "Wish List" illustrates some of our critical needs and is a guide for individuals and corporations wanting to give.

House Wish List

The House uses just about all of the same supplies that you need in your own home, except in MUCH larger quantities. We would love to receive donations of all kinds of Household products, and we would especially appreciate the following:

Around the Kitchen:

  • Individual-sized boxes of cereal
  • Individual-sized bags of cookies, crackers & snacks
  • Packaged Frozen Dinners
  • Sugar
  • Packets of sugar substitute
  • Canned goods and non-perishables
  • Glad / Ziploc Storage Containers

Around the House:

  • Liquid Hand Soap
  • Bleach
  • Dishwasher Soap
  • Laundry Detergent

Small Toiletry items:

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Shavers

Entertainment:

  • Nintendo 64 games
  • Playstation Games
